Stewart County FCE Clubs

Stewart County has a rich tradition of women and men involved in the Family & Community Education Clubs. Club members are serving the community as leaders, teaching and educating. Members meet once a month in homes and community meeting spaces. Workshops and trips are offered periodically throughout the year.

The Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP) is a nutrition program for families who receive or are eligible for SNAP benefits. Programs discuss budgeting food dollars, how to feed families nutritious meals, and other nutrition related subjects. A coalition of community partners and SNAP participants serve to determine nutrition programs that will be offered.

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) primarily works with low income families with children. A series of six lessons are offered to children during school and after school. Educational programs will focus on selecting and preparing nutritious foods, managing the food dollar, food safety, and physical activity.
